Well Switchfoot can't have it both ways as I Pastor of mine says, there is no Wriggle Room. If Gays can do what they want well so can Christians politically correct or not. Us Christians have to push back eventually we will overcome.
I sounds to me, when reading between the lines, that there is distrust towards the media. I bet that if you went to talk to the band without the intention to write an article, there would be a different flavour and he'd be more open about how he sees things/wants to see things etc. My impression, also, is that there is a personal battle going on with the whole "Christian" word. It is a loaded word - not always with a positive spin, either.
Did you read through the comments to the article? I particularly enjoyed popsicle67's comnment titled "Glad to know".

i wish people could take down their signs and make good music.
music that is 'christian' or secular is spiritual. life is spiritual... unfortunately there is this conflict between worlds.. i feel sorry for the musicians who make good music and the christians say... "THEIR OURS"
they are people serving jesus through what they do... who cares if their music is ... sparrow or forefront.... i vote SONY!
I'm a former youth pastor trying to become a marketplace missionary. I'm married to a wonderful woman named Wanda and have been for 11+ years. We have recently adopted a beautiful girl whom we named Annalise.

I'm in complete agreement. What the heck is going on in the article, and what's the point this guy is trying to get across?
