Another Reason To Love Vancouver

Well I think the Jazz Festival is just another reason why Vancouver is the best city in the world to live in. I just got to hear some awesome music for FREE. World class stuff. Just amazing. If you are ever in the Dunbar area, stop by for a great coffee product at the Well 3271 Dunbar St.
Sure would love to hear from some of my friends who are bloggers. Hope all is well.

Our Purpose Here

I was thinking that I haven't posted anything about what our purpose down here is. We've been living downtown for 9 months and learning the culture and spiritual climate. We are wanting to buy a coffee shop as a means of making community connections for the Gospel's sake "To create a relvant atmosphere where truth can be explored". Coffee shops are great places for dialogue and investigation of truth. We live in a society that is very spiritually seaking and very spiritually hungry. We believe that God had brought us to downtown Vancouver to be change agents and to establish THE TRUTH in the middle of this emerging world city.

If you read anything about Vancouver you'll quickly see how Vancouver is setting the pace for urban architecture as well as converging trends. The three major trends in the world right now are URBANIZATION (people are moving to cities, 88% of Canada lives in cities of 100000 or more), GLOBALIZATION (the world is getting smaller because of the internet, cell phones and increasingly available air travel) and......... ASIANIZATION (the effect of China as a growing world superpower with regards to economy. China consumes 25% of the world's concrete, 40% of the world's raw steel and 50% of the world's coal). The best place in the world to watch all three of these trends is Vancouver. VANCOUVER NEEDS JESUS. We are committed to living Jesus in this context. Talk to y'all later.
